The story behind Auckland’s leading Drycleaners
The ongoing investment in machinery and equipment and the commitment to state-of-the-art technology combined with outstanding customer service by a team of dedicated and experienced personnel, has seen Sparkle evolve to become the largest commercial drycleaner in Auckland. The use of automated conveyors enables the fast, efficient, and accurate sorting of garments. High quality video records garments from initial entry and their subsequent progress through the plant.
Sparkle has been in business for over 50 years, initially as a High Street retail Laundry and Dry Cleaner but after acquisition by the current shareholders, Nicholas Burnton and the late Alan Cole, they recognised in 2000 the need to provide for a premium service to 5 Star Hotels and over the past two decades Sparkle established itself to be at the forefront in the Hotel Dry Cleaning and Laundry service.
Sparkle now services more than 50 hotels, from small to large, in the Auckland region with early morning collections and same day return ensuring that Hotel Uniform inventory can be kept to a minimum and guest’s valet requirements met in a timely fashion.
We always ensure that our practices are as environmentally friendly as possible. The use of computer controlled chemical supply pumps, water re-cycling, rainwater collection and heat exchangers contribute to reducing the impact on the environment. Plastic wrappings and hangers have all been replaced and our delivery vehicles are hybrid electric vans. Sparkle has committed to Accor’s Planet 21 Sustainable Development Programme, Through that, we have been awarded an ECOVADIS silver medal placing us in the top 30% of our industry worldwide, and working towards improving this each year!
